Inter.net
An international ISP you can afford

Cathleen Miller

My ISP charges 15 cents/minute for international access; this didn’t sound too bad until I got the first bill following a month on the road. After I quit crying, I vowed to either find a cheaper method, or cut my virtual ties to the world.

What I discovered was a terrific Internet service provider called Inter.net. They offer free unlimited access in the U.S. for $27.95 a month. Not that great of a deal, you say? Consider that their Traveler account also buys you free unlimited access in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Panama, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Altogether Inter.net offers access in over 40 countries, with tiered pricing. The most expensive being Zone D regions like Chile, Colombia, Guam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, and Tai14wan, which are still only 8 cents/minute, a considerable savings.

And better still, if you have a Miles and More account with Lufthansa, you can benefit from a special promotion for a Traveler account; only $.95/month.
